Biography: Allan & Jan Burney
Allan & Jan Burney came from New Zealand in 1988 and attended a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Discipleship Training School at the Turner Valley Training Centre. They remained with YWAM as staff and took over the role as Training Centre Director in 1991 until 2001 when Allan became the part-time Pastor of Millarville Community Church. Allan served as the Provincial Director for YWAM in Alberta and President of the YWAM Society Board. He was a member of the National and Western Canada Leadership Teams.
Pastoring went from part-time in 2001 to full-time in 2006 with the growth of the church. With his prior training in Mechanical Engineering and the missions exposure, Allan has a desire to see the church bring a transforming gospel to this nation and internationally through Bible Study Training and Community Development.
Allan also serves on the South Alberta District Board for the Canadian Bible Society and as a Governor on the Canadian Bible Society's national Board. He also has participated in their annual Bike for Bibles fundraising initiative for the last 7 years.
Jan is a Homeschool teacher, Bible teacher, quilter and avid reader. Trained as a High School teacher, Jan loves to teach others, particularly when there are Biblical applications. They have 5 children, all Canadian.
