March Note from Allan
Prayer
Like breath to a living body so is prayer to the Christian. It's the essential means of communication with the Giver of Life. From the intimacy of personal prayer with our Lord, to the burden of intercession, prayer comes in a variety of forms yet the key ingredients remain the same; God and the dependent disciple.
“Some people pray just to pray and some people pray to know God” --Andrew Murray
Our Lord modelled a prayer life that typically began in the early hours, preparing Himself for the demands of His ministry call and fulfilling the will of His Heavenly Father in every instance. It is said that our battles are first won on our knees in prayer for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but principalities and powers in heavenly realms. John Wesley said, “I have so much to do that I spend several hours in prayer before I am able to do it.” To move forward as a Body requires a church in prayer. May God's grace and presence enable us to be known as a people of prayer, a people who know their God and do mighty exploits for Him.
Blessings,
Allan Burney
